MakeFive logo gets “kiboshed”

In the rush to launch MakeFive last year, we scrambled to get a logo in place. The irony here is that we’d rail against any client wanting to do the same, but that’s how it goes sometimes. So, we launched with a rather derivative logo and figured we’d “fix it in the mix”. (Again… BAD! I know…)
Well, we finally created something that feels a little more functional (pictured above). It’s ultimately a rather basic wordmark with some chocolatey goodness added via a few bevels, shadows, et cetera. (The funny part here is that I rarely use these filters.) Something about these treatments seemed to feel right for this project though.
I’ll write more about changes to MakeFive later this week.

Sexy choc-o-luv. Friendly, happy, feel good. Makefive for the win!
Thanks Michael! We have a lot of nice changes coming over the next couple of weeks.
I’ve also started to blog about some of the UI enhancements/changes we’re making on the site. Here’s the first of these: http://blog.makefive.com/2008/09/wondering-what-we-do-all-day/
Cheers!

Awww…. I’d like to join the campaign to bring back the old logo. I really liked it! If that makes me derivative, so be it. Not to bash the new one, which is also quite nice.
Maybe we can start a Facebook group?
Something like: “1,000,000 strong for the old MakeFive logo”?
;-)
